2012 Supermileage Team

Thanks to our lunch ladies - Group Hug

Volunteer Time

The results are in! Out of four classes we took first in two of them. First place in E-85 with an average of 535 mpg. First place in Experimental with 489 mpg. We believe our Modified car came in 4th. Quite a bit of hardware for our small school. We also won a short block partial engine in the drawing. There were 103 cars in this years competition-the most ever. Pictures will be coming later tonight or tomorrow. Way to go A-c Supermileage!! We are now heading south.

Day One Results

The results are:
  • Green Machine in the Experimental class has made 6 runs with a 453 average miles per gallon
  • Looks Don't Matter in the Modified class has made 8 runs with a 353 average miles per gallon
  • Corn Patch Cadallic in the E85 class has made 14 runs with a 517 average miles per gallon
  • The Big Red in the show class will run tomorrow
  • Boz, do you approve over in Pittsburgh?

The team is happy with how the day has gone and looking forwards to tomorrow.  Two cars are not running very good tonight and the team is still working on them.  They hope to get them running before they need to leave at 10:00 pm.
We have decided that we now have literally a "Bunch of Red Necks" in Brainerd!  The sun hit us hard!

The crew at work!

The day is going well.  They are not getting the mileage that they want, but no major breakdowns.  A few minor repairs and talking about some adjustments is where they are currently at.  The parents are trying to keep them covered with sunscreen and drinking lots of water.  It is a warm day at 86 degrees.

Ready to Roll

The boys were up early and got the other two tech inspections done. Cole says we're ready to race.

Pizza Party at the Pool

10 pizza's later and time at the pool did the team good.  Time for lights out.

Tech Inspection

Once we checked in, they decided to open tech inspection.  So, off the kids went!  One car made it through before 10:00.  They will start again on Monday at 7 am.  BUT, they are HUNGRY!  It has been a long time since lunch at 12:00.

Arrival

We made it to Brainerd with plenty of time to spare.  The kids played football and visited area groups.

Off to Brainerd!

18 students and 6 adults packed up and headed to Brainerd.  We stopped at Culver's in Elk River for lunch.  We have arrived at the Days Inn in Nisswa.  Everyone is settling in to their rooms and then we will head back down to Brainerd International Raceway (BIR) to wait in line for our tech inspection number and registration.
